Rainbow Drop Spindle, 3.0 ounces, Andromeda

Handmade original top whorl rainbow drop spindle made by Point of View Farm. I love to drop spindle and I wanted a pretty spindle design to work with. Out of that, this idea was born. I LOVE the depth the resin offers as a material. It is like looking into another world as you discover what is happening in all the different layers. Kristy Glass bought one for herself and one for her daughter. We all love pretty tools. This one is Andromeda.

The whorl is resin which is colored carefully by hand, then turned on a lathe to balance. It will handle the bumps that drop spindles receive in the course of use. The hardwood shaft is individually hand turned and then fit to the individual whorl.

This particular spindle weighs 3.0 ounces and is about 10 inches in overall height.
