This is a beautiful variegated hand dyed yarn in turquoise blues and greens. 80% Finnsheep and 20% Mulberry Silk blend worsted weight 3 ply yarn. You receive 2 skeins with this listing. Each skein is 178 yards for a total of 356 yards. Total weight 7.1-7.2 ounces. Suitable for knit, crochet, weaving weft or fulled felted projects. Next to yellow, these colors are my very favorite. Reminds me of a beautiful gemstone shimmering in the sunlight. Really nice depth and dimension on this yarn. The silk adds beautiful luster. I used about 5 different dyes to make this colorway. One skein is a bit deeper in color than the other. They are from the same dye pot. I showed a photo of the two skeins twisted together so you can see how they coordinate perfectly. I would definitely use them in the same project with no reservations. If you desire more uniformity in your project, just alternate the yarns each row of your project.
The finnsheep wool in this yarn was bred, born, raised and shorn entirely at Point of View Farm Finnsheep. These ewes are specifically selected for top quality fiber to produce the most luxurious of yarns. The mulberry silk adds luster and drape to the yarn. Mulberry silk is the more expensive silk and a higher grade silk than you might find in a commercially available yarn. Only the best…that is kind of a motto here at the farm. The Point of View Farm flock is pasture raised in the Hudson Valley region of New York and given the utmost in care and love. We know happy healthy sheep produce beautiful fiber. This wool was spun into yarn at a small US mill to our exact specifications. Then we dyed it right on the farm by hand in this pretty pretty pink.
The Point of View Finnsheep flock is raised as naturally as possible. That means we never dip our sheep in or pour pesticides on them. The pastures they graze are never treated with chemicals, only compost from our own farm. The mill uses mild soaps to clean the wool and not harsh processes. This keeps the wool soft, lofty and ‘healthy’ for your special project.
