The 2023 fleeces are sold out. However, if you are looking for a finnsheep raw fleece or wool asap, we have 2-3 in our on site farm shop that we are happy to show you if you visit the farm.
Point of View Farm will be shearing our coated ewes and lambs in January of 2024 so please keep an eye out for our super nice and clean raw fleeces.
If you want to reserve a specific color or individual fleece, please contact us. We can arrange that for you. Fleeces are sold per pound. Rates are set after shearing based on costs. If you specifically want a lamb, reserve early.
The cost of raising sheep has gone up considerably in the past few years due to rising feed, fuel and labor costs. We do all we can to run this farm efficiently without cutting corners here at Point of View Farm. We will not trade off the welfare of the sheep or the quality of their feed to keep costs down. We do what is the very best for them…first and always. That is our promise to you. No compromises. We are happy to share what we do here. Just ask us.
This listing is to place a deposit on a raw fleece. If you place a deposit for a fleece and then change your mind, you can apply your deposit dollars to anything else on the website or in our farm store. To be fair, please don’t place a deposit unless you are sure you want one of our Point of View Farm finnsheep fleeces. We will give deposit holders at least 24 hours to decide on fleeces before notifying the next deposit customer or making them available to the public.
Fleeces start to be available after shearing in January-March. The work continues until all are specially prepared for discerning handspinners. It takes time, often hours of prep per fleece as the ruthless wool skirters and preppers make sure what you get in the bag in the best of the best and there is no vm (or as little as possible). Please be patient. Shearing time is also the time of year we are lambing and obviously, the newborn lambs and their mothers are always our priority.
