Shipping & return policies
Everything below applies to orders we ship to your door. Farm store pickup and farmers' market pickup are simpler — your order is packed, frozen, and waiting for you.
Shipping policy
Two-day service, always. Every meat shipment is priced for UPS 2-day delivery. If you're in UPS Zone 1 or 2 — most of the Northeast — that's standard ground service, arriving in one to two days. Shipments going beyond Zone 2 require UPS 2nd Day Air, so frozen meat never spends more than two days in transit no matter where you live.
We ship early in the week. Meat orders are processed and shipped on Mondays and Tuesdays, and occasionally Wednesdays, so your cooler is never sitting in a depot over the weekend.
Weather happens. Shipments may be delayed by weather or other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. If a delay looks likely, we'll reach out before your order leaves the farm rather than after.
Heat holds. When temperatures along the route are too hot for frozen meat to travel safely, we hold the shipment and send it on the next suitable ship day. We would rather your lamb arrive a few days later than arrive thawed.
Choosing your service. At checkout we look up your UPS zone from your zip code and show only the services that keep frozen lamb in transit for two days or less. Zones 1 and 2 get Ground; everywhere else starts at 2nd Day Air. You can always upgrade to Next Day Air if you'd like it sooner.
Everything else ships anywhere in the USA. The two-day rule only applies to frozen meat. Honey, socks, sheepskins, treats and other farm goods ship to any address in the country by regular UPS or USPS Ground service, with faster services available on request.
How it travels
Your lamb ships frozen solid in a reusable farm cooler — no ice packs, no styrofoam, ever. For the cooler to do its job, your order needs to fill it about 85% full; we'll help you get there at checkout.
When your order arrives, unpack it promptly into your freezer. Packs that are still firm and cold to the touch are in perfect shape, even if they've softened at the edges.
Return policy
All sales are final. Meat is perishable, and once it leaves the farm we can't take it back or restock it.
The cooler is different. Your one-time $35 cooler deposit is refundable — send the cooler back within 21 days using the included prepaid poly mailer and the deposit comes back to you. Lamb Lovers Club members keep their cooler and get a prepaid return label with every shipped order.
If something isn't right, tell us. We're a small farm and we stand behind what we raise — reach out through your account messages and we are happy to discuss your needs.
